This is my first note of 2010! Seeing as how I'm only 3 hours into it! haha
First and foremost, I need to thank Spence Parkerson, worship pastor, disciple, friend, but most importantly fellow brother in Jesus Christ! If it wasn't for him this would have never come to my attention! I love you Spence and I'm sorry about missing our meetings! Love you bro!
Ok, this title is so important to me! I have been drug through the mud for a month or so now. Tested left and right, and failed I think every test. God has challenged me and I failed. Honestly, I got to a point where I knew God was right beside me and I understand what he did for me, but I still didn't care... I never thought I would get that way but I did. Spence made me admit it and it was such a relief to get it out. I was going to church, I didn't want to be there, but deep down I knew I needed to be there. I heard some great sermons and still didn't care...
Well, after meeting with Spence one day in particular he said something that has changed my life forever. All he said was, stop trying to be religious and start living for God. So simple but so powerful!!! This is my life motto since that day!The reason this is so powerful is because as a Christian today we think we have to spend a certain amount of time reading our Bibles and praying or we are not really a Christian. The truth is if you put down religion and pick up Jesus and just live your life for him, you will be a lot happier! WOW I love that!
He talked about our callings and said something else that impacted me in a big way. See our calling to us is what God has called to do and we make that seem like we are called into the mission field, to be a pastor, a deacon, a Sunday school teacher. That is a calling, don't get me wrong, but its only a temporary calling on our life. When you read the Bible you will see that we all have the exact same calling. That calling is to be a Christian first above everything else. Live our life for God and spread the word about what Jesus did on that cross over 2000 years ago. That is a calling that is confirmed time after time in the Bible.
This is a little different than my other notes, its kinda just to let you all in on whats going on inside my head. I pray that this has impacted you even if only in a small way. More notes to come soon! My prayer is that God will use me at least once a week to share things of my life and things of his word with you all! Thank you so much for reading and please comment or message me and let me know what you thought! I love you all so much!

"Christian today we think we have to spend a certain amount of time reading our Bibles and praying or we are not really a Christian". I think it's sad that Christians think that. It's worse that The Church teaches that nonsense.
"Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention."
