Weak Christians

This day and age Christians are seen as weak. Christian men are not only weak but not even leaders. There is no courage, no passion, no sincerity, no true examples of what it means to be a MAN\WOMAN OF GOD. I'm talking about a guy that plays church, plays house, plays daddy, plays friend, yet behind closed doors there is so much more going on. I am so sick of weak Christians. Not men alone, but women as well. Our children are growing up in a world full of weak Christians, or should I say "Christians". Are you curious why we have weak men and women of Jesus?

Matthew 7:24-27 (ESV)
Build Your House on the Rock 24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Today's men and women build their faith upon the sand and not upon the rock. When I say the sand, I mean themselves or another person. We are born into sin. No one teaches us how to sin, how to tell a simple lie, or how to disrespect our parents. We are born with that ability. If you look to any person they will ALWAYS let you down. No man is perfect, no man is God. We have a weak foundation because we aren't taught what it really means to have a solid foundation. To be taught we have to have a teacher, to be a teacher you have to be willing to teach. Sad reality is there are men and women that have been saved since they were in their teens or 20's who are now in their 40's or 50's or even older yet they are still satisfied with the milk. There is no meat in their life. They dont understand this next passage.

Matthew 28:16-20 (ESV)

The Great Commission 16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Ever heard of the great commission? Ever wondered why we don't do that?

Luke 14:25-33 (ESV)

The Cost of Discipleship 25 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple

Because Jesus demands us to die to ourselves, and live for him. Its not you who lives but him who lives in you.

Matthew 16:24-28 (ESV)

Take Up Your Cross and Follow Jesus 24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life[g] will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. 28 Truly, I say to you, there are some standing here who will not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

Are you willing to die to yourself? I will tell you it is the hardest thing you will ever do. I;m sorry if this is hard for anyone to hear, but its time we buckle up and become men and women of an all powerful God. He is so powerful but the example we are is the exact opposite. Die to yourself, live for him, and then you will see the true power of Jesus and if you share that, you will begin to see the church take a turn for Jesus!

Masquerade Christianity

Wow, it has been so long since I have done this! I wish I could write all day every day! God uses me in his time though. The title of this comes from J.T. Cheek, Life group leader, friend, brother in Jesus Christ. One day at life group we went off on a tangent and it all concluded with J.T. saying Masquerade Christianity. It blew me away because that is such an appropriate term for religion in south Georgia. We live in "The Bible Belt". Most of our southern morals are based on biblical teachings. We are getting away from that now but still a lot of our moralistic ideas are biblical. It's not right for this or that ... You get it. Anyway, This is why Christians look weak to the world, this is why Christianity is so accepted into everyone's lives because they see Christianity is just a word and not a commitment/ lifestyle . When you first accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life it's a lifestyle and a commitment to God. I don't know a poll but I bet if ...

My Mansion

I am learning more about myself daily, as I am sure you are as well. Today I began my day as I usually do and proceeded with the typical way I live my life. I did wake up especially early this morning though. 4:30am came early considering I went to bed so late last night. By late I mean I went to be around 11:30 - 12. Going to sleep that late, I would usually sleep in much later than 4:30am, but not this morning, for whatever reason. Well, I got up, took my dog out and came back in to sit in front of my computer, played some video games and watched some movies/videos online. I have always enjoyed a good "reaction video" so I took a stroll down that field this morning. I am always intrigued with how someone from a different walk of life will react to some specific song or something. I started watching a man, probably in his mid 50's reacting to Eminem videos. I was struck with how open minded he was, and realized how emotional Eminem's songs make me. I began to thin...

The Narrow Way

3 "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7: 13-14 Read that and read it again. Think about what that means to you. "Enter by the narrow gate" - to me this is simply saying the narrow gate is the right one to enter through without having read the rest of the above scripture. "For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many." - This is something that is so hard for us to comprehend. Not everyone will go to heaven, actually by what this says, many people or most people will go to Hell because they will chose the wide gate and the easy way. By them choosing that way and following that path, they will find destruction in the end. Pain and suffering for eternity. What is eternity, I can't explain because I don...
