Message To The Church

Can I send a message to the church. The people that are supposed to be there when someone else is in need. If that need is spiritual, emotional, physical, or financial. As Christians, we are called to love others and put them before ourselves. Matthew 22:36-40 NIV “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" With 90% of Christian's knowing this verse, why is it so easy to walk away from our faith? Not only that, but not show up at church for over 2 years and no receive a single phone call? I guess, to be open about my situation, I haven't been to church in a long time. you may ask why. Well this post should help shed some light on that. I attended a church for 8 years. I didn't have a job for a good part of attending this church so I spent A LOT of my time there. Giving time because I had no money. I helped in every way I could, I went to small groups, I helped with youth, I even became a leader of the audio team. I would spend so many hours watching videos at home, trying to figure out how to do my job better. See, I was taught by my parents to always be the best that I can be. In Jesus, and in the church, I always did my best. Mediocrity was never enough. I had to be the best at what I was doing, and maybe some people saw that as cocky or arrogant, I saw it as Jesus deserves every ounce of what I have to give. Without Jesus, we deserve to burn in hell for eternity. But because of Jesus, we have a free entry to paradise, and not only that. We are GOD's children. Hell is hot, and very painful, but the pain and anguish of hell comes from an eternal separation from God. He isn't there to help us anymore. He gives us up to our vices. I have read 2 articles of 2 very famous Christian people walking away from their faith and I wonder how that can happen to someone that has been so influential to so many people. I think it goes back to putting others before yourself. having those hard conversations, and just loving people. When I say we are supposed to be there for one another, do it. Now, I understand fully now that I have posted this, people will begin messaging me, telling me how much they miss me and I should come back to "fill in the blank" church. I don't want your pity. I want you to have done that without me having to call you out. The church needs to be the church. If you're Methodists, Baptists, Pentecostal, etc... Love people, put them first. Raise them up, encourage them. Its actually not that hard. If you haven't seen or heard form someone in a while, CALL THEM. Texting is easy, its also VERY impersonal. If you know where they live, go say hey and just see how they are doing. You have to be willing to listen to peoples struggles and afflictions. You may think you're not a teacher, but the reality is no one can tell Jesus' story better than HIM. If you are a Christian, "Its not I who lives but Jesus who lives in me", let Him tell you what to say and do. Listen to His voice. If you can't hear it, ask Him to teach you how to hear Him speak. If you read this, thank you. I know this is a lot, but this has been on my heart for a long time. Its time for the iron to begin sharpening the iron. And it starts with you.

Masquerade Christianity

Wow, it has been so long since I have done this! I wish I could write all day every day! God uses me in his time though. The title of this comes from J.T. Cheek, Life group leader, friend, brother in Jesus Christ. One day at life group we went off on a tangent and it all concluded with J.T. saying Masquerade Christianity. It blew me away because that is such an appropriate term for religion in south Georgia. We live in "The Bible Belt". Most of our southern morals are based on biblical teachings. We are getting away from that now but still a lot of our moralistic ideas are biblical. It's not right for this or that ... You get it. Anyway, This is why Christians look weak to the world, this is why Christianity is so accepted into everyone's lives because they see Christianity is just a word and not a commitment/ lifestyle . When you first accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life it's a lifestyle and a commitment to God. I don't know a poll but I bet if ...

My Mansion

I am learning more about myself daily, as I am sure you are as well. Today I began my day as I usually do and proceeded with the typical way I live my life. I did wake up especially early this morning though. 4:30am came early considering I went to bed so late last night. By late I mean I went to be around 11:30 - 12. Going to sleep that late, I would usually sleep in much later than 4:30am, but not this morning, for whatever reason. Well, I got up, took my dog out and came back in to sit in front of my computer, played some video games and watched some movies/videos online. I have always enjoyed a good "reaction video" so I took a stroll down that field this morning. I am always intrigued with how someone from a different walk of life will react to some specific song or something. I started watching a man, probably in his mid 50's reacting to Eminem videos. I was struck with how open minded he was, and realized how emotional Eminem's songs make me. I began to thin...

The Narrow Way

3 "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7: 13-14 Read that and read it again. Think about what that means to you. "Enter by the narrow gate" - to me this is simply saying the narrow gate is the right one to enter through without having read the rest of the above scripture. "For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many." - This is something that is so hard for us to comprehend. Not everyone will go to heaven, actually by what this says, many people or most people will go to Hell because they will chose the wide gate and the easy way. By them choosing that way and following that path, they will find destruction in the end. Pain and suffering for eternity. What is eternity, I can't explain because I don...
